Challenge

The Chester County Food Bank feeds families in need throughout the country with the freshest food possible through partnerships with farms and growers. The food bank had quickly out grown their space in the four years since their inception and needed room for their expanding operations so when a large single story building became available in Eagleview Corporate Center they acted quickly. From the time they closed on the property in March, they needed to design, build, obtain a health inspection and relocate to their new space before the end of the growing season so that they wouldn’t miss a bushel. Friends of the food bank stepped up to help, they had an architect and contractor but still needed someone to identify and coordinate the rest of their needs.

Solution

Jackie Sweeney stepped in to help fill in the gaps. Jackie provided budget development and cost tracking along with a detailed project schedule. Weekly meetings were held to keep team members focused and on task, in addition to weekly updates also kept board members up to speed. The project finished just in time for the corn harvest and under budget.
